How do I replace the toner cartridge on my printer?

I'm getting a "Toner Empty" message. How do I replace my toner?

Here is a link to a simple "how to" video for you.

If youi prefer, here is the procedure you can follow as well.

Replace the toner when the printer's display or status monitor reads "Toner Empty"

The toner used in the cartridge is a very fine dry powder.
You should have a sheet of paper handy so you have somewhere to place the used cartridge while you install the new one.
Dispose of the old cartridge responsibly, such as by placing it inside the pack that the new one came in. Please follow the regulations in your area concerning waste recycling.

NOTE: If there is a toner spill, clean any metal or plastic parts of the printer with an alcohol wipe. Avoid touching the green surface of the Drum and the Transfer Belt (Belt located under all the drums).
Use cold water and soap to clean toner from hands or clothing.

Please see illustrations below for step-by-step instructions on how to replace your Toner Cartridge.

Press the cover release and open the printer's top cover fully.

If the printer has been on, the Fuser is hot. This area is clearly labeled. DO NOT TOUCH.
2. Note the position of the four cartridges: Cyan (1), Magenta (2), Yellow (3), Black (4):
3.Pull the colored toner release lever on the cartridge to be replaced towards the front of the printer.

(Picture shows replacement of the black toner cartridge).
4.Take hold of the toner cartridge from the top center.

Lift the right-hand end of the cartridge and then pull the cartridge to the right to release the left-hand end as shown.

Remove the toner cartridge and discard it in accordance with your local regulations.
5.Unpack the new toner cartridge and gently shake it from side to side to loosen and distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.
6.Take hold of the toner cartridge from the top center.

Remove the adhesive tape from the underside of the cartridge.

Do not touch the toner release lever until the toner cartridge is installed into the drum.
If you do, it will open the toner release slot and spill toner.
7. Holding the toner cartridge by its top center (with the colored release lever to the right), insert the left end of the cartridge into the top of the Drum, pushing it firmly against the spring on the drum unit.
8.Lower the right end of the toner into the Drum, pressing it firmly down in place. Push the colored lock lever back to open the toner slot and lock it in place.

The lever should move easily. If it does not, STOP! Push down on the toner cartridge to be sure that it is properly seated in the Drum, then press on the lever again.

To avoid toner spillage, do NOT open the toner release lever until the toner cartridge is firmly seated in the drum.

We strongly recommend that you clean the four LED strips located inside the top cover (the black shiny strips facing out) each time as you change the toner cartridge.
Use the LED cleaner or an alcohol wipe that normally comes with the toner cartridge package.

Close and latch the top cover.

You are now ready to print.
