	Menu Selections -- Diablo 630 Emulation

Category	Selection	Explanation
Emulation	HP Series II, PostScript, Diablo 630	Select printer emulation or change to PostScript mode.
Copies	01 to 99	Select the number of copies you wish to make by cycling through the numbers with the + and - buttons.
Paper Feed	Tray 1, Tray 2	Select whether paper will be fed from the upper paper tray (tray 1) or the lower paper key (tray 2). This category is active only if the optional lower tray is installed.
Manual Feed	On, Off	Set to On to feed paper manually. Manual feed is used for envelopes and for nonstandard sizes of paper.
Tray 1 Size	Universal=A4, Universal=A5, Universal=A6, Universal= B5, Envelope= COM10, Envelope= MONRC, Envelope = DL, Envelope=C5	Select paper/envelope size when the optional universal paper tray or envelope tray is installed as tray 1: A4 = 210 X 297 mm. A5=148 X 210 mm. A6=105 X 148 mm. B5=182 X 257 mm. COM 10 = 4.12 X 9.5" MONRC = 3.87 X 7.5" DL= 111 X 223 mm. C5= 163 X 234 mm.
Tray 2 Size (appears only if optional second tray is installed)	Universal=A4, Universal=A5, Universal=B5	Select paper size when the optional uni- versal paper tray is installed as tray 2 (envelopes are not to be fed through tray 2). A4=210 X 297 mm. A5=148 X 210 mm. B5=182 X 257 mm.
Legal size	Legal= 14 inch, Legal = 13 inch	Select the length of a legal page.
Orientation	Portrait or Landscape	Select the direction of print on the paper. Portrait printing is normal printing across the width of the paper; landscape printing prints across the length.
Font Source	Resident, Upper Card, or Lower Card	This specifies whether the default is the internal (resident) font set, or a card set (appears only if a card is installed).
Font Select	Font No=100	Select the default font by identification number from among those fonts available from the selected orientation and font source.
Character Pitch	Pitch= 10 CPI, 12 CPI, 15 CPI, PROP	Select character width, measured in characters per inch. All resident fonts are 10 CPI; the 12 CPI, 15 CPI, and PROPortional selections are intended to support optional font cards, and only appear if an appropriate card is installed.
ASCII Word Length	ASCII=7Bit, ASCII = 8Bit	Specify the number of bits in a data word.
Auto Line Feed	Auto LF=Off, Auto LF=On	Select whether the printer adds a line feed command to each CR. The choice depends on whether your computer adds a line feed,
Auto Carriage Return	Auto CR=Off, Auto CR=On	Select whether the printer automatically adds a carriage return command to each LF.
Auto Emulation	Auto Emul.= Off, Auto Emul.= On	Activate auto emulation feature. This feature allows you to change emulations through software control.
Tray Switch (appears only if optional second tray is installed)	Tray Switch=Off, Tray Switch=On	With this item set to On, the printer automatically switches to the second paper tray when the flrst tray is empty.
Auto Continue	Auto Cont=Off, Auto Cont=On	When this feature is On, a software or data error causes the printer to show an error message for a few seconds, then continue to print. When it is Off, the printer will stop printing, and you must press the RECOVER button to continue printing.

Example

In this example, we're going to use the menu to change the orientation of printing from portrait (across the 8-1/2 inch width of a standard page) to landscape [along the 11-inch length). When we start, the default HP Series II emulation has been selected, and the printer is on-line--the READY light is lit, and the message window displays "ON-LINE."

1. Press the ON-LINE button. The READY light goes out, and the message window displays:

OFF-LINE .HP

2. Press MENU. The window displays:

EMULATION HP SERIES II*

3. Press MENU five times (six times if you have the optional second paper tray installed). The window displays:

ORIENTATION
PORTRAIT .HP*

The asterisk indicates that this is the currently selected setting.

4. Press + again. The window displays:

ORIENTATION
LANDSCAPE .HP

5. Press ENTER An asterisk appears after LANDSCAPE to show that this is now the active setting.

6. Press RESET. The window displays:

ON-LINE .HP

You have exited from the menu, and the printer is back on-line and set for landscape
printing.
